Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Current mood: grumpy

I am about to go crazy because of my mother! I thought that by getting engaged that she would lay off about getting married since Gabe and I are in no real rush to get married anytime soon. I am not about to start popping out children so why rush it?

Right?!

Well my mother keeps sending me owls asking me if we set a date and that I need to get married soon. She makes it seem that if I don't get married today something will happen! Now that she is badgering me I will just dig in my heals and wait just that much longer.

I also see that Potter has decided to write in the journals once more. Merlin help me if I have to read what he has to say one more time.

Now where is Gabe or Theodore. I need one of them to help relax me after reading my mothers latest rantings.

Well, I'm hiding from you, clearly.

You should come find me.

We can make a game of it.

A good old game of hide and seek?

I feel 5 again.

Exactly that, poppet, only I'll give you cryptic hints, or you can ask questions and I'll answer that, and you can piece what I say together.

Well, you were an adorable five-year-old.

I like both choices. We can try both of them.

Aww, so were you, love. Thank you for the compliment. At least you appreciate true beauty.

Oh, Gwendolen, sweetheart, didn't you learn a thing from that owl I sent you? I mean, I know it was long, and that you got it a while ago, and that there were a lot of big words in it, but I really did try to cater to your intellectual level, or lack thereof. Honestly, the answer is quite simple: your best mate is avoiding you because he's tired of hearing about your shoes, and your fiancee is avoiding you because he's about as queer as a silver Snitch. Anybody could see that.

Kisses.

DON'T YOU DARE speak about Gabe like that!! You do not know him so don't act like you know more about him than I do.

He is not avoiding me and if you wouldn't mind I am going to see him right now.

I do not only talk about fashion. You would know if you tried to get to know me or talk to me. Not like I would want to talk to a blood traitor like you.

Sweetheart, I'm only being honest. If you can't handle simple truths, then you've really no business getting married to anybody, let alone your queer fiancee.

Ahh Kat, nothing else to do with your spare time?

Oh and the guys are just dying to be with you are they?

This bitchiness is why I do not have anymore female friends.

Not a thing, in particular. I'm just wasting time before the cotillion my father's having for his executives.

They are, actually, but I daresay Ursula has seen problems with most of them. One of them actually had to go to Saint Mungo's because she clawed him up so badly, and, well. If Ursula has problems with a man, then he clearly isn't worth my time.

Yes I would say so!

That is why I always stayed away from your cat.

Oh, I don't know that you'd have any reason to fear Ursula; she doesn't usually attack girls, even the melodramatic, ill-tempered ones. She's quite the little feminist. I'm very proud of her.

Well, good for her then.

I do admit I am ill-tempered at times. There is usually a reason for that though. Okay and I am melodramatic too...

I am the anti feminist then since I don't befriend any females. Well, I am not fully opposed to it but most of my gender is really bitchy, two faces and petty. I enjoy the company of my male friends more than any female ones I ever had.

Now, now, Gwendolen, darling, do you really need to be coached through this like a first year writing her first essay for Snape? If the big words are confusing, love, you absolutely must find a dictionary and look them up. Really, they aren't particularly expensive -- I mean, I got cut off from my family's money and I can buy one -- and they're a marvelous investment, especially for someone as special as yourself.

More to the matter at hand: you are not an anti-feminist because you don't befriend women; you are disinclined to enjoy the company of women because you don't befriend them. You would be an anti-feminist if you openly supported oppressing women and stripping them of their rights, their social status, any hope they have for respect, and reducing them to simply baby-making machines. Since I highly doubt that you do this, you cannot call yourself an anti-feminist.

No, see, getting engaged is just the first step. Then you have to pick the date, and the wedding party, and the dress robes, and it's all really intricate and stupid, honestly. They have people for that, though. "Wedding planners." You could find one. They'd probably have a better sense of aesthetics than you, if what you wore around the office last Tuesday is any indication. And they're probably not too horribly expensive, considering that all they'll do is tell you what colors look good on you and what robes won't emphasize your jiggly arse.

I am dreading all of that. I love Gabe but I just don't see why getting married changes anything about how I feel towards him. It is just some piece of paper you sign.

I only buy the most expensive and latest fashions. Not like you know anything about that.

Marriage is a code word for Ministry fund-raising. After all, they charge you for the license, they take a bit off the top for sending someone out to perform the ceremony, they collect taxes on all the stuff you have to buy... it's better than the Muggle traffic police, I swear.

Maybe not, but I know all about the most expensive and latest racing brooms, and those are much more interesting.

I would have to disagree with that statement.

Though watching broom races is not that bad, but I like it for different reasons. The fit guys for one!

I would have to disagree with your disagreement.

Woman, do you have any idea what the Firebolt IV is capable of? Do you realise that it is not built for some simple broom race, but to be used by only the best Quidditch players on the face of the planet -- the gods-among-men players, the Aidan Lynches, and Viktor Krums, and Gwenog Joneses? Do you think for a second that putting it in some idiotic, first-year race would not only be a travesty, but a personal slight against God Himself? Seconded.

No I don't, nor do I have any interest in researching to find out.

You need to get your priorities straight if the one thing you care about most is bloody quidditch and some daft broom.
